FAQs

What are online courses?
Online courses are interactive lessons, just like a standard language course. Our online courses combine video conferencing (with Zoom) and interactive materials on a Moodle platform to help you learn. This way, you get the ‘face-to-face’ dynamic with a teacher and classmates as well as originally designed exercises to test what you have learnt. The online exercises on the Moodle platform facilitate your self-study and allow the teacher to give you feedback.

Who teaches the online courses?
The lecturers are the same German teachers who teach our face-to-face courses. All our teachers are certified German teachers and have BAMF certification for integration courses. What hardware and software do I need to take part in the online courses? You will need a computer or laptop with a camera, a microphone and an internet connection. You will need to set up a free Zoom account and a login for our Moodle platform. Once you have registered for the course, you will receive instructions on how to log in to Moodle.

Are textbooks used?
Yes, the online courses use the same books as our face-to-face courses. You will receive additional exercises and interactive materials via the Moodle platform.

Do course participants receive a certificate?
Yes, you will receive a certificate after completing the modules. The courses follow the same curriculum as the classroom courses and are recognised by the BAMF.

How can I register for the courses?
After you have taken a placement test or submitted the documents from the Federal Employment Agency or the Foreigners' Registration Office, you will receive detailed instructions by e-mail. You will receive instructions on how to join the Moodle platform and when/how to join your course.
