Eco-Literacy and Green Education for Climate Action (ECOLitAct) is an Erasmus Plus Partnerships for Cooperation project co-funded by the European Union. It aims to empower VET practitioners and learners to counteract misinformation related to the environment and climate change and inspire them to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors/attitudes. It aims to develop digital green education/training opportunities and materials that embrace “eco-literacy” (media and information literacy applied to ecology and climate change) and focus on behavior/attitude change while being available to all, especially those with fewer opportunities and in digital form.
The project supports climate action by inspiring critical thinking, developing digital and MIL skills and promoting attitude/behavior change. This is achieved by compiling learning materials in a toolkit and handbook.
ECOLitAct offers this learning opportunity to all in a self-directed and individualized setting through an educational structure based on a self-assessment tool that guides each person's learning path. “Eco-literacy” is the term this project has coined to refer to media and information literacy (MIL) in relation to topics related to ecology and climate change. An example of successful eco-literacy skills is identifying fake news that claims there is no climate change.visit the project coordinator's website for more information and to learn more about the project!
The Self-Paced ECOLitAct Online Course

The course consists of six thematic modules. Each module is available as an Explorer course through which you can build a knowlegde basis in each topic, and as a Practitioner course which will help you build on your existing knowledge. If you already have advanced knowledge and skills in a particular thematic area, you will be directed to the Expert level where you find additional resources to deepen your knowledge.
The self-assessment tool and all courses are avilable in English, Swedish, German, Greek, Italian, and Slovenian below as well as on the ECOLitAct course website: https://ecolit.know-it.gr

Welcome to the ECOLit VET Hands-On Handbook, a comprehensive guide designed to empower VET practitioners/educators in fostering eco-literacy among learners. This digital resource presents a collection of six lessons, each crafted in the format of a recipe, aimed at enhancing knowledge and prompting reflection on environmental and climate change-related topics. The goal of this handbook is to bridge the knowledge gap and promote sustainable actions by providing accessible and easily digestible learning opportunities. By adopting a simple "cookbook" structure, the EcoLit VET Hands-On Handbook makes eco-education available to all, particularly to those with fewer opportunities.
