This project aims to promote the social inclusion of migrants and refugees in European societies through an innovative approach to language learning based on non-formal game-based learning, focusing on everyday dialogues that adult people need in their usual social interactions. Unlike children, adults do not have as many opportunities to socialize and integrate into local society. Language is one of the biggest problems they face when they arrive in the host country. To help them and facilitate the integration process, the GAME ON project focuses on providing adults with an easily accessible way to learn the target language so that they are able to communicate at a basic level.
The main goal of the project is to contribute to the social inclusion of migrants and refugees in the host country through the learning of foreign languages that are geared towards dialogs and situations that they need in their everyday social interactions.
And more specifically:
- Developing the skills of language teachers to use games in foreign language teaching.
- Developing non-formal and game-based language learning methods for migrants and refugees.
- Developing foreign language learning games specifically designed for adult migrants at A1 and A2 levels.
- Developing digital learning games for A1 and A2 levels that can be used independently or in combination with other types of language learning games.
