Citizens' Digital Readiness

Citizens' Digital Readiness strengthens the digital skills and social participation of adults with very low digital competence. The project empowers vulnerable adults through simple, informal training supported by AI-based tools, while equipping adult educators with practical methods to make digital learning more accessible and inclusive.

During the project, 60 adults take part in two rounds of digital readiness workshops where they explore everyday digital challenges—such as navigating public service websites, filling out online forms, or joining video calls—and co-design solutions. Their input directly shapes seven easy-to-follow digital tutorials developed by the project partners.

At the same time, 15 adult educators participate in upskilling workshops to learn how to adapt digital tools, use AI-supported applications, and support learners with very low digital confidence. Educators exchange experiences across countries and refine effective strategies for digital inclusion.

After testing with learners, the tutorials are optimized for clarity, accessibility, and real-world relevance. All materials become available in an open-access digital learning space (in English + 3 national languages) under a Creative Commons license (CC BY SA).

The project continues to grow through Open Days, outreach events, and a sustained European network of educators and organisations. Testimonials and digital readiness stories are captured in short videos to inspire future learners and trainers.

Citizens' Digital Readiness ultimately provides sustainable, AI-supported resources that help adult education centres, trainers, and community organisations support vulnerable adults on their path to digital empowerment.
